Trump: I Would Tell Putin to Never Invade Ukraine
Donald Trump, a candidate for the U.S. presidency, has stated that during his presidency, "we would never be threatened by war," and that he would not allow Russian President Vladimir Putin to start a war against Ukraine. The political figure made these comments in an interview with Bloomberg.
“We got along well with Putin, we had a good relationship... He would never invade Ukraine. I would say, 'Never, never invade Ukraine,'” the former U.S. president said.
According to Trump, the current global situation “can lead to World War III.” He blames the situation on his electoral rival, current U.S. President Joe Biden. “There was no war during my time... No war other than against ISIS. I ended them very quickly. I was told it would take five years, but it didn't take me long; we defeated them... And Russia was not seizing any territory,” Trump added.
At the same time, the presidential candidate mentioned that he has considered easing sanctions against Russia, as he is not in favor of such restrictions. According to Trump, if the U.S. has a “smart president,” then countries like Russia, China, and North Korea will not be enemies of the United States.
