Who Will Be the U.S. Vice President If Trump Wins?

Former U.S. President and presidential candidate Donald Trump announced on the social media platform Truth Social that he has offered Ohio Senator J.D. Vance the position of Vice President if he wins in the November elections.

“I have determined that the person most deserving of the position of Vice President of the United States is Senator J.D. Vance from the great state of Ohio,” he wrote.

He reminded that Vance served in the Marine Corps, graduated with honors from Ohio State University in just two years, studied law at the prestigious Yale University, and wrote a book about the “hardworking men and women” of rural America, which was adapted into a film.

Before entering politics, the senator, according to Trump, built a “very successful business career in technology and finance.”

“Now, during the campaign, he will focus on the people for whom he has fought so brilliantly—the American workers and farmers in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Minnesota, and far beyond,” the publication stated.

Vance is 39 years old, married, and has three children. He is a graduate of Yale Law School and has worked in investment funds alongside prominent Republican donor and billionaire Peter Thiel. He became a senator in January 2023.

Recently, Vance has been a vocal critic of the current White House leader, Joe Biden, and has repeatedly highlighted the unpredictable consequences of Washington's aggressive anti-Russian rhetoric. In particular, at the beginning of the year, he called for Ukraine and the U.S. to make peace with Russia, even at the cost of significant territorial losses for Kyiv. Additionally, he described the idea of inviting Ukraine to NATO as irresponsible and criticized the allocation of huge amounts of money to Kyiv, stating that corruption in the country has spiraled out of control.
