Sergey Bagratyan's Wife's Company Expands Illegal Sand Extraction Business
In the context of a criminal investigation at the Investigative Committee, a company linked to the MP of the 'Civil Contract' faction, Sergey Bagratyan, has expanded its illegal sand extraction business, reported Hetq.
In November 2023, Hetq had reported on illegal sand extraction on a 64-hectare land parcel in the village of Ranchpar, Ararat Province. Even before that publication, a criminal case had already been initiated at the Investigative Committee regarding illegal entrepreneurship, land degradation, violations of rules for the preservation and use of natural resources, and causing significant damage to the state through the extraction and sale of sand and gravel mixtures.
The criminal case being investigated by the Investigative Committee, led by Argishti Kyaramyan, has not hindered the company 'Ararak' associated with the MP from expanding its illegal sand extraction operations.
