Tehran Aims to Strengthen Relations with Neighbors: Iran's Newly Elected President
Iran is determined to strengthen its relations with neighboring countries and create a strong region where no one dominates over others. This statement was made by Iran's newly elected president, Masoud Pezeshkian, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“During my administration, we will focus on strengthening relations with our neighbors first and foremost. We will advocate for the establishment of a strong region, rather than one where a single country seeks supremacy,” stated the Iranian president.
He emphasized that neighboring and brotherly nations should not waste their valuable resources on destructive competition, an arms race, or unjustified deterrence against each other.
Tehran also expects to collaborate with Turkey, Arab countries, and regional organizations. Iran aims to create favorable conditions that would allow the resources of regional countries to be directed towards the progress and development of the Middle East.
Pezeshkian referred to Russia as Iran's valuable strategic ally and neighbor, asserting that cooperation with Russia will continue, particularly within the frameworks of BRICS, SCO, and EAEU.
