No One Has Promised That Ukraine Will Become a NATO Member in the Next 10 Years
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has stated that no one has promised that Ukraine will become a member of the North Atlantic Alliance within the next 10 years. He made this declaration during a CBS broadcast while answering a question about why Ukraine is expected to join NATO in 10 years rather than in 2 or 3 years.
“No one has said it will happen exactly in 10 years, but it is clear that the question of admitting Ukraine is taken very seriously,” Stoltenberg noted.
According to Stoltenberg, the most important thing is to increase the support provided to Ukraine so that Kyiv can “win.” He emphasized, “This is a prerequisite for any future membership of Ukraine.”
