Despite England's early activity, it was Switzerland that opened the scoring. In the 75th minute, the Swiss launched a wide attack, and England defender John Stones inadvertently intercepted a pass into the penalty area. The ball fell to Breel Embolo of Schalke 04, who scored from close range.

However, the British team did not wait long to respond. Just five minutes later, in the 80th minute, Arsenal's Bukayo Saka leveled the score with a stunning long-range effort. The assist came from his club teammate Declan Rice.
