Video: Government Funding for Flood-Affected Families Revealed
In the regions of Lori and Tavush in Armenia, families affected by floods caused by heavy rainfall on May 25-26, 2024, will receive support from the government. Specifically, four families who lost their loved ones, four servicemen, will be granted a total of 1 million drams. This decision was made during today’s government meeting.
It has been reported that a total of 250 families, consisting of 854 members, have faced various social issues resulting from the floods. “As a priority, 4 million drams will be redistributed from the state budget to be paid to the families of the four deceased individuals, while the remaining amount will be subject to clarification based on the applications submitted by local administrations and the information on the number of family members,” the justification for the decision states.
For other affected families, specifically from the Alaverdi community in Lori and the Ayrits settlement in the Noyemberyan community of Tavush, each family member will receive 60,000 drams. Additionally, residents from the Tumanyan, Pambak, Tashir, Stepanavan, and Gyulagarak communities in Lori, as well as from Arjisi, Bagratashen, Debedavan, Haykakan, Ptghavan, and the towns of Dilijan and Ijevan in Tavush, will receive 40,000 drams for each family member.
It is also noted that the funding for these assistance amounts will be supplemented by monetary contributions from donor organizations.
