Iran Arrests Terrorists Planning to Sabotage Presidential Elections
Iranian military personnel have arrested terrorists preparing for acts of terrorism during the presidential elections in Iran, even before the polling stations opened. This was announced by the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Majid Mirahmadi.
“Terrorists infiltrated the country before the elections, and they were preparing terrorist acts. They have been arrested by military personnel, and the terrorist movement has suffered a complete defeat,” stated Mirahmadi, as reported by the IRIB television channel.
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs clarified that the criminals had “planned to organize terrorist acts to create an atmosphere of instability in the state and to scare people into not going to vote.”
The Iranian Minister of Internal Affairs, Ahmad Vahidi, noted that order at the polling stations has been ensured by 180,000 law enforcement personnel.
