Peskov: 'We Consider Them Quite Absurd'
Russia does not recognize and considers absurd the arrest orders issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov. This was announced to reporters by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of Russia.
“We do not recognize the jurisdiction of that court; we are not a member of the relevant statute. Therefore, we do not recognize those orders,” Peskov stated.
“We consider them quite absurd, just as we did with the previous two orders regarding the head of state and our children’s ombudsman,” he added.
