Court Sessions in Ashotyan's Case to Be Closed to the Public: What Awaits Him
Human rights defender Ruben Melikyan wrote on his social media page: “We have reached a de facto zeroing of the principle of publicity. At the request of the prosecutor, the court has deprived the public of the opportunity to follow the questioning of witnesses in real-time and to make their own ‘judgment’. This request from the prosecution itself is sufficient to confirm our fundamental claim that this is a classic case of political persecution.
