Galuzin Discusses Criticism from Armenia
Under the influence of Western narratives, there has been a sharp decline in bilateral political communications between Armenia and Russia. Mikhail Galuzin, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, stated this in an interview with Kommersant.
“From Yerevan, criticisms of Russia, the CSTO, and the existing security system are becoming more and more frequent. This is, to put it mildly, unconstructive and shortsighted,” said Galuzin.
In his opinion, Armenia's full participation in the activities of the CSTO aligns with the aspirations of the Armenian people and serves the cause of maintaining peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
“No matter what promises Western countries that have urged Armenian authorities to ‘freeze’ the organization's membership make, there are no effective alternatives to the CSTO as a mechanism for ensuring Armenia's security. The work on building the CSTO's capabilities is systematically progressing, leaving Yerevan behind,” Galuzin added.
