Blinken Confirms NATO Command Structure Established to Aid Ukraine
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has confirmed that NATO is creating a command structure in the German city of Wiesbaden to coordinate assistance for Ukraine.
“We are establishing a NATO command in Wiesbaden to coordinate defense assistance, equipment supply, maintenance, and repair,” he stated at a press conference in Washington alongside NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
Last week, Blinken announced that NATO is taking on the coordination of military assistance to Ukraine, allocating 700 personnel for these purposes and establishing a separate command at the U.S. base in Wiesbaden, led by a “three-star general.”
