The conference in Switzerland regarding the Ukraine issue cannot achieve its objectives because Russia is not represented there. This was stated by Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto. He is also participating in the conference dedicated to Ukraine at the Bürgenstock resort.

“Switzerland’s efforts to establish peace have always been highly appreciated and continue to be valued. But, to be frank, the peace conference can only achieve its goals if both conflicting parties are at the negotiating table. This will not happen this weekend,” the foreign minister said.

He noted that Hungary continues to call for “real, substantive peace negotiations between those who are waging war.” “The international community must compel the warring parties to finally agree on a ceasefire and sit down at the negotiating table,” Szijjarto added.
