Ukrainian Conference Would Be More Effective with Russia, Says Turkey's Foreign Minister
The Ukrainian conference in Switzerland could become more effective with Russia’s participation, stated Turkey’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during a speech at the summit in Bürgenstock.
“This summit could have been more effective if the other side, Russia, were present here in the hall. We are convinced that there is a serious need for a comprehensive and inclusive strategy,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Earlier, Switzerland’s President Viola Amherd stated that it is impossible to imagine a peace process in Ukraine without Russia. According to Amherd, it is essential to ensure that the first step at Bürgenstock is followed by a second.
