Vigen Euljekchyan in Baku Prison Wants to Commit Suicide, His Wife Alerts
Two weeks ago, we spoke with Vigen via video call, his wife Linda Iman, who was captured by Azerbaijanis in Shushi on November 9, told “Hraparak”. “Vigen was very weak and very despairing. He told me that he wants to commit suicide, he has no hope that one day he will be released,” said Linda.
She mentioned that Vigen was not encouraged by the news that the Lebanese government is working towards his release. Linda noted that her husband needs a psychologist or psychiatrist to work with him so that Vigen can abandon the thought of suicide.
“Employees of the Red Cross are trying to find solutions to the situation, but so far they have not been able to do anything,” Linda said. She provided the media with a letter sent by Vigen.
It is reminded that Vigen had been sentenced to 20 years in prison by the authoritarian regime in Baku on charges of being a foreign mercenary, while Vigen had simply repatriated to Shushi to live there.
