NSS in Kiran: Authorities Offer Compensation to Locals, Residents Decline
Officials from Tavush have arrived in Kiran to offer compensation to villagers whose homes or land are set to fall within Azerbaijani territory as a result of border demarcations. This was reported today, May 16, to NEWS.am by local resident Karen Ghazaryan.
“They came and said not to worry, that your safety will be ensured, and that compensation will be given to those whose homes or land will remain in Azerbaijani territory. The people neither wanted the safety they proposed nor the compensation,” he stated, highlighting that, according to his information, two houses and several plots of land are set to come under Azerbaijani control.
