U.S. Announces It Will Not Supply Certain Weapons to Israel If It Invades Rafah
The United States will not supply certain types of offensive weapons to Israel if it conducts a large-scale ground operation in the city of Rafah, located in the southern Gaza Strip. This was confirmed by U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan during a press briefing with reporters.
“President Joe Biden has made it clear that, in the event of such an operation, certain offensive weapon systems will not be provided,” emphasized the advisor to the American leader.
At the same time, he reiterated that the U.S. considers an invasion of Rafah to be a mistake. “We still believe that starting a large military operation in the heart of Rafah, which would endanger the lives of many civilians, is wrong,” said Sullivan.
