Two Men Admit to Sexual Violence Against 13-Year-Old Girl
On April 11, operational information was received at the Vardenis police department indicating that two men from the villages of Sotk and Akunk had committed sexual acts against a girl born in 2011. This information was confirmed to 1lurer.am by Zarzand Gabrielyan, head of the Media Relations, Analysis, and Information Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“During the verification activities and measures taken, based on the direct and reasonable suspicion of having committed the crime, the men were arrested and taken to the department where they confessed to the act and were subsequently presented to the investigative department,” said Zarzand Gabrielyan.
Later, Gor Abrahamyan, the press secretary of the Investigative Committee, announced that charges had been brought against the two individuals. “A criminal case has been initiated regarding the sexual violence against a minor under Part 3, Clause 2 of Article 198 of the RA Criminal Code. Charges have been brought against the two individuals, and they are in custody,” he stated.
