Navalny's Mother Threatened to Agree to Secret Burial within 3 Hours

Opposition politician Alexei Navalny will be buried in a penal colony unless his mother agrees to a secret ceremony. This information was reported by Navalny's press secretary Kira Yarmysh, as conveyed by The Moscow Times.

“An investigator called Alexei’s mother and issued an ultimatum. She has 3 hours to agree to a secret burial without a public farewell, or Alexei will be buried in the penal colony.” Yarmysh wrote, “She has refused to negotiate with the Investigative Committee as they have no authority to decide how and where her son should be buried.”

According to her, Lyudmila Navalnaya demands that the authorities comply with the law regarding the return of her son’s body with medical documentation. “She insists that the authorities allow the burial and memorial service to be conducted according to tradition,” Yarmysh added.

Earlier, Navalnaya stated that investigators showed her the body of the politician but refused to hand it over and demanded that a secret burial be conducted, threatening to prolong the process of returning the body as much as possible if she did not comply.
