The Basis of the Criminal Case is Not the Complaints of Missing Soldiers' Parents, but the Revelations in Procurement Contracts. ‘Zhoghovurd’
‘Zhoghovurd’ newspaper reports: ‘The parents of missing servicemen who refuse to accept the results of DNA tests went to the Anti-Corruption Committee yesterday and demanded to meet with the committee's head Sasun Khachatryan. The parents informed ‘Zhoghovurd’ that the deputy head of the committee received four parents of servicemen and listened to their complaints. What prompted the parents to approach the Anti-Corruption Committee? They told us that after learning from the media about a criminal case against the director of the Forensic Medical Scientific Practical Center, Mher Bisharyan, they hurried to the Anti-Corruption Committee to understand whether the criminal case was related to the disgraceful DNA conclusions regarding their children who fell in the 44-day war, which they have been voicing concerns about for years. There have been instances where a parent was given three hands, claiming that all three belonged to their deceased son. In another case, instead of identifying the DNA of a tall serviceman who wears size 43 shoes, they identified the DNA of a serviceman who is 1.60 meters tall, and so on.
As a result, the leadership of the Anti-Corruption Committee explained to the parents of the soldiers who participated in the war that they are conducting an investigation regarding a suspicious contract signed three and a half years ago for the procurement of equipment intended for DNA identification examinations, and they are not conducting investigations concerning the cases highlighted by the parents. In other words, the parents’ complaints have not become the basis for charges.
The parents informed ‘Zhoghovurd’ that they left the Anti-Corruption Committee once again in despair, as the case is being investigated not based on the issues they have raised for years, but in connection with entirely different processes. It should be noted that Mher Bisharyan, the director of the Forensic Medical Scientific Practical Center, who was arrested the day before for abuse of power and official forgery in the procurement of DNA identification equipment, has been released by the decision of the Anti-Corruption Court.’
