Latvia Permits Seizure of Vehicles with Russian License Plates

As of February 15, new amendments to the "Road Traffic Law" have taken effect in Latvia, allowing for the seizure of vehicles with Russian license plates.

According to the changes in legislation, vehicles registered in Russia are permitted to participate in Latvia's street traffic only if they are in transit and for a single time. Exceptions will be made for vehicle owners who have privileges and immunity in accordance with Latvia's mandatory international norms, as well as for vehicles belonging to diplomatic missions and international organizations.
