Gunfire Clearly Heard, Causing Panic Among Residents of Nerkhin Hand: Ombudsman

On February 13, following the actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces in the direction of Nerkhin Hand in the Syunik region, a study has been initiated by the Ombudsman's office concerning violations of human rights as instructed by Ombudsman Anahit Manasyan.

According to reports, the gunfire from the Azerbaijani armed forces has disrupted the civilian population's rights to life, a safe living environment, education, and other fundamental rights. Residents have shared with the Ombudsman’s office that the gunfire was clearly audible, leading to their fear and a state of uncertainty and anxiety.

The Ombudsman emphasizes that the actions of the Azerbaijani armed forces pose a real threat to the right to life and security of individuals, as well as the provision of education and other fundamental rights.
