Images of National Heroes Removed from Park in Ararat
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport has instructed schools to remove glory corners and plaques that feature images of freedom fighters, national heroes, and fallen soldiers.
One resident of Ararat informed us that images of national heroes have been removed from a park in the city center. We contacted the Ararat municipal office to verify the information, but instead of a response, we received reprimands. "Have you seen that park? Come and see it, then ask your questions; should we inquire on behalf of others?" the head of the office responded.
The resident shared that the images were situated in the city center where a statue of Vazgen Sargsyan is located. "There is a two-way road that leads to the Ararat hospital, and between those two roads, in the lawns, there were pictures of all national heroes..." said the citizen.
When we asked another resident of Ararat if the images had indeed been removed from the city, they confirmed that the pictures had been taken down both from the square and near the hospital.
