Massive Protests in Slovakia
Massive protests have been held in Slovakia against reforms to the criminal legislation. According to local media reports, approximately 30,000 people took to the streets in Bratislava alone. The opposition has announced similar rallies in another 14 cities. More than 60,000 people are participating in the demonstrations across various cities in the country. They are opposing the plans of Prime Minister Robert Fico's government to implement extensive reforms to the criminal legislation, which include the easing of penalties for certain economic and property crimes, as well as the abolition of the special prosecutor's office.
