Citizen Beats Dog To The Ground Multiple Times And Attempts To Strangle It
The police have uncovered cases of brutal treatment towards animals. On January 28, a citizen called the operational management center of the Kotayk regional police, reporting that unknown individuals had shot at his hunting dogs in the village of Voghjaberd.
The police state that an operational group from the Garni division was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that around 12:40 PM, an unknown individual had shot at two hunting dogs near one of the houses on 6th Street in Voghjaberd, resulting in the death of one dog.
Officers from the Garni division, through investigative measures, established that the act had been committed by a 59-year-old resident of Voghjaberd. He was arrested and taken to the Kotayk division of the police, where he presented the weapon used in the crime, a 12 mm caliber hunting double-barreled shotgun. The documents formed have been sent to the Abovyan investigative department.
The next incident of cruel treatment towards an animal occurred on the night of January 29. In the town of Artashat, patrol officers on night duty noted at around 12:30 AM that a citizen had beaten a dog to the ground several times and attempted to strangle it in an area adjacent to the central bus stop on August 23 street.
The patrol officers intervened and prevented the brutal treatment of the animal, while the citizen was arrested and taken to the Artashat division of the police, where his identity was established: he was a 33-year-old resident of Arevabuyr village. The documents formed have been sent to the Ararat regional investigative department.
