VIDEO: Fire Breaks Out at Moscow's Largest Market Owned by Azerbaijani Tycoons
A fire has broken out at the "Sadovod" market in Moscow, affecting the stalls along the 20th line. The Baza Telegram channel reports that the fire was reported at 11:58 local time (12:58 Yerevan time), consuming goods stored in containers. One person has suffered from smoke inhalation.
The blaze has prompted the evacuation of 350 people, and firefighters are facing challenges in extinguishing the fire due to the dense construction in the area. To prevent the spread of the fire, rescuers are dismantling the surrounding unaffected stalls.
It’s noteworthy that the "Sadovod" market, which spans 40 hectares, is located along the Moscow Ring Road to the south of the city and includes around eight thousand shops. Each year, "Sadovod" attracts 36.5 million visitors.
The market is owned by Azerbaijani billionaires God Nisanov and Zarakh Iliev, who are of Jewish origin.
