‘Armenia Has No Intentions of Leaving CSTO’ - Papoyan
During a parliamentary briefing, Gevorg Papoyan, a member of the My Step Alliance faction, stated that Armenia has no intent to leave the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). He remarked, “Armenia has no intention of exiting the CSTO, but as a member of the CSTO, it has certain obligations towards the other member countries and those countries have obligations towards Armenia. This is the essence of this security mechanism,” he noted, adding, “Armenia has never rejected the possibility of the CSTO sending a mission, but we pose a clear question – where is that contingent supposed to carry out its mission if there is no clarification on where Armenia begins and where Azerbaijan ends, and what will they be observing?” He emphasized, “We do not want to exit the CSTO, but de facto they have sidelined us from that process.”
