Patients in One of Armenia's Medical Institutions Frequently Go without Salaries for Up to 6 Months

In several hospitals in Armenia, medical staff salaries are not being disbursed within the established timelines. This was stated by the MP from the Civil Contract party, Hrachya Hakobyan, during a discussion in the National Assembly, where he emphasized that there are frequent complaints about such issues and even instances where salaries are delayed for several months.

In response to the MP's inquiry regarding the reasons behind the delays in salary payments for employees in medical centers, the Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan, said that everyone is obliged to pay salaries on time.

"I believe that it is unnecessary to distinguish between healthcare facilities. Any organization should pay its staff salaries completely and on schedule. Employees should also protect their labor rights. If you are aware of any specific cases, please mention them so we can understand what the issue is," Avanesyan noted.

The Minister of Health emphasized that healthcare organizations should plan their expenses and revenues in such a way that there is no delay in salary payments. In response, the MP requested an investigation into the Aparan Medical Center to determine the reason behind the delayed salaries for all employees, where individuals have reportedly gone without pay for 3, 4, and frequently up to 6 months.
