What Comment Did the German Embassy Make Before the Foreign Minister's Visit to Yerevan and Baku
On November 3-4, Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will visit Yerevan and Baku. In connection with the Minister's visits, Azerbaijani media have approached the German embassy in Baku for additional details.
It is noted that this is the first visit of Germany's Foreign Minister to Armenia and Azerbaijan, and the second to the South Caucasus after her visit to Georgia in the spring of 2023.
“Germany seeks sustainable peace, political and economic diversification in the region, and close relations with the European Union. The goal is to achieve a comprehensive peace settlement through negotiations, so that Armenians and Azerbaijanis can live in peace and security within their national borders,” stated the German embassy.
The embassy emphasized: “To this end, we support the rapid resumption of trilateral negotiations through the mediation of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and we support any relationship that contributes to the peace and stability of the peoples of the South Caucasus.”
