Erdogan Invites Turkish Parliament to Ratify Sweden's NATO Membership Protocol
The leader of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has proposed to his country's parliament to ratify the protocol for Sweden's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance (NATO). This information has been reported by the local administration.
They also clarified that the protocol was signed by the President of Turkey today, on October 23, and has already been submitted for discussion in the National Assembly.
The Ankara authorities must reject the ratification of Sweden's accession to NATO, after which Turkey itself must withdraw from the military alliance. This was stated in an earlier interview with RIA Novosti by the leader of the Turkish “Homeland” party, Dogu Perincek.
