"That Peace Still Has a Chance to Be Realized" - Mirzoyan
“Peace in the South Caucasus has no alternative,” Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated during the Q&A session with the National Assembly and the government. He emphasized that we continually see that one side does not share this approach and periodically resorts to the use of force or the threat of its use.
“Currently, there are almost no Armenians left in Nagorno-Karabakh; this is a vivid manifestation of the policy of ethnic cleansing, a reality that the whole world has witnessed,” he said, assuring that Armenia remains committed to the pledge of building peace in the South Caucasus. “That peace still has a chance to be realized. It can be based on the principles proclaimed by us, the recognition of each other’s territorial integrity by Armenia and Azerbaijan, based on the most recent legitimate maps of the USSR.”
The minister reminded that the parties have agreed on this multiple times.
