What is Causing Delays in Yerevan Metro Trains
The delays in trains of the "Karen Demirchyan Yerevan Metro" especially during morning hours are due to technical inspections. Tatyana Khachatryan, the spokesperson for the Yerevan Metro, informed a reporter from Armenpress about this.
"All trains undergo technical inspections. Currently, only a few trains are operating. We are utilizing those trains that have passed the technical inspection," said Khachatryan, emphasizing that the safety of passengers is a priority for the management and staff of the Yerevan Metro.
It was noted that the trains that are in service arrive at the stations every eight or nine minutes in the morning.
Khachatryan highlighted that the heavy congestion on trains is likely also connected to the closure of certain roads and issues with public transport, leading to an increased number of passengers using the metro. "The flow of passengers is three to four times heavier," she pointed out.
"The entire staff is working to restore the normal operation of the Yerevan Metro as soon as possible," Tatyana Khachatryan concluded in her conversation with the media.
