Vardan Ghukasyan on Coalition Formation
The leader of the Public Voice party, Vardan Ghukasyan, has announced his openness to the idea of forming a coalition with opposition forces.
He has not ruled out supporting the candidacies of Marutyan or Tevanyan for the position of mayor, but demands that the oversight functions be handed over to his party. “Let's decide who among you will become mayor; I have no objections, I support each one of you, but with one condition: all oversight functions must be assigned to 'Public Voice.' You become the mayor, and the oversight apparatus goes to my team,” he stated.
It should be noted that as of 10:00, the Central Electoral Commission has reported the preliminary results of the voting in the Yerevan City Council elections from all 475 polling stations. According to the voters' register for the Yerevan community, there are 824,250 registered citizens, of whom 234,436, or 28.44% of eligible voters, participated in the vote.
