VIDEO. Our Region is Such that the Risk of Escalation is Present - Deputy Minister

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia, Arman Sargsyan, addressed the issue of border tensions. He noted that the Ministry of Defense has provided information about the buildup of Azerbaijani forces at the border and urged people to follow official news updates.

In response to a remark about videos showing the enemy amassing offensive weapons at the border, the deputy minister stated: “Professionally, I won’t say much; it is clear there. Artillery weapons and various military equipment seem to be present. This has been discussed. I do not want to reiterate this again. I only urge you to follow our information; we will promptly provide updates in case of any escalations or even minor gunfire incidents.”

The Ministry of Defense is naturally taking steps within its jurisdiction to prevent the situation in the region from destabilizing and to avoid any negative impact on the overall situation. “Our region is such that the risk of escalation is present, but we, as a state, must take measures to ensure that things do not reach escalation or, in general, significant military actions,” he added.
