Mika Badalyan Arrested for Illegal Arms Trafficking
Blogger Mika Badalyan has been arrested for 72 hours under the charge of “illegal arms trafficking,” his lawyer Erik Aleksanyan informed Sputnik Armenia.
It is important to note that in addition to Badalyan, Ashot Gevorgyan, a columnist for Sputnik Armenia, was also apprehended in Goris.
According to a statement from the Investigative Committee, seven individuals were arrested in the Syunik region on September 6 and 7, including Mika Badalyan and Ashot Gevorgyan.
“We are concerned about the fate of those detained and will take steps to clarify the circumstances of what has occurred,” stated a declaration from the Russian Embassy in Armenia.
