Former Kindergarten Director Steals Approximately 65 Million AMD in Yerevan
The former director of the "Yerevan Number 110 Kindergarten" has embezzled a particularly large amount of 65,051,590 AMD from the organization's financial resources, according to the Armenian Investigative Committee.
It was reported that during her tenure from 2000 to 2019, the former director instructed the chief accountant of the kindergarten to sign cash withdrawal checks in various amounts under her name and her daughter's name between January 2015 and May 2019.
After signing the checks, the chief accountant handed them over to the director, who then stamped them with the organization's seal. Subsequently, under the director's instruction, the chief accountant and the director's daughter withdrew the cash from different banks and handed the money over to the director.
Based on sufficient evidence, the former director of the organization has been charged under Article 256, Part 3, Clause 3 of the RA Criminal Code (Misappropriation of entrusted property by using official powers or influence associated with those powers), while the chief accountant has been charged with complicity in the embezzlement of entrusted property.
As a preventive measure, a signature against leaving the country has been selected for them. During the pre-trial investigation, the accused restored 7,000,000 AMD of the damage caused to the state. The pre-trial investigation has been completed, and the materials of the criminal case have been sent to the prosecutor to confirm the accusatory conclusion and forward it to the court.
