He noted, "It was very difficult for me when my candidacy was proposed by the president, but this was preceded by consultations at the level of the heads of political forces involved in the parliament, with parliamentary factions, and jointly the president's proposal and the decision of the Artsakh Central Committee of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation to endorse David Ishkhanyan concluded with the election of the parliament's president."
