Pyunik Scores Two Goals in Quick Succession

The vice-champion of Armenia, Pyunik, has secured a spot in the third qualifying round of the Conference League.

In the second leg of the qualifying round, the Yerevan club achieved a 2-1 home victory against the Swedish team Kalmar, having also won the first leg away (2-1).

In a match held at the Abovyan city stadium, the team led by Yehishe Melikyan clinched victory in the closing moments. In the 77th minute, Armenian national team midfielder Artak Dashyan opened the scoring with an impressive shot from his own half. Two minutes later, the hosts doubled their advantage through substitute Hovhannes Harutyunyan. In the final moments, the Swedish club managed to reduce the gap, but could not achieve more.

In the third qualifying round, the 15-time champions of Armenia will face the winner of the matchup between Bodo Glimt (Norway) and Bohemians Prague (Czech Republic), with the Norwegian club having won the first leg 3-0.

In the first qualifying round, Pyunik had two victories over the Estonian cup winner Narva Trans (2-0, 3-0).
