Response of Artsakh Human Rights Defender to ICRC Statement
The Human Rights Defender of Artsakh has responded to the statement made by the ICRC.
We welcome the alarm raised by the ICRC regarding the rapidly deteriorating humanitarian crisis in Artsakh. At the same time, we urge the ICRC to remain committed to and respect the human dignity rights of the people of Artsakh, as enshrined in various international conventions, and to cease efforts to legitimize Azerbaijan's unfounded proposals for providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Artsakh through Aghdam.
Furthermore, in this context, the deliberate avoidance of using the name Artsakh/Nagorno-Karabakh in the official statement by the ICRC offends the feelings and dignity of the people of Artsakh.
