US Seeks Sanctions Against Kyrgyzstan
US authorities are considering the imposition of sanctions against Kyrgyzstan to compel Bishkek to cease the alleged export of sanctioned goods to Russia, reports The Washington Post.
"The Biden administration is preparing new economic measures to force the country to stop that trade," The Washington Post states.
According to the publication, citing American officials, new US sanctions may be imposed as early as this week, as reported by RT.
In June, the 11th package of EU sanctions against Russia came into force. The first 10 packages related to the EU's ties with Russia, while the 11th opens the door for EU sanctions against companies in third countries that cooperate with Russia.
