Video: Commentary from the US on the Unrest in France
Former US President Donald Trump’s advisor Roger Stone has stated that the cause of the crisis in France is unrestricted immigration. He made this comment on his Twitter account.
According to the American official, the unrest in France has been enabled by the government’s shortsighted migration policy. “Napoleon is now turning in his grave. This is what happens when you allow unchecked immigration into your country,” Stone wrote.
As of Sunday night, the number of arrests in France due to the unrest exceeded 450, with BFMTV reporting that law enforcement detained 486 individuals.
The protests in France began on the evening of June 27 following the death of a 17-year-old boy at the hands of police in the Nanterre suburb of Paris. Over the course of four days, protesters looted more than 200 stores, supermarkets, and banks. Approximately 250 tobacco shops have also been affected.
