Lukashenko Urges Not to Turn Him, Putin, or Prigozhin into Heroes

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has requested that no one, including himself, Russian President Vladimir Putin, or Yevgeny Prigozhin, be depicted as heroes in light of the recent attempted insurrection in Russia. The comments by the Belarusian leader are cited from the official website of the President of Belarus.

“I said, under no circumstances should you make me a hero, nor Putin, nor Prigozhin, because we let the situation slip, thinking that it would gradually resolve itself, but it did not. And we have two people who were fighting at the front. There are no heroes in this affair,” he stated.

It is worth recalling that earlier, Alexander Lukashenko stated that Belarus would be left defenseless if Russia were to collapse.
