VIDEO: Tense Situation in Azerbaijan as Police Assault Elderly Protesters

A conflict has occurred between local residents and police in the Gadabay region of Azerbaijan. Local news outlets report that police assaulted elderly residents of the Soyudlu village in the Geographically residential area of Azerbaijan, who were protesting against the construction of an artificial lake in their village.

In dispersing the protesters, the police used batons against the elderly. The protesters had to defend themselves with stones. It is noteworthy that the demonstration is still ongoing.
