Rockfall Occurs in Alaverdi; Rescuers Restore One-Way Traffic
On June 20 at 06:06, information was received by the crisis management center of the Lori Regional Rescue Department regarding a rockfall on the M-6 interstate highway, near the old bridge in the city of Alaverdi. The road was closed in both directions.
A firefighting-rescue team from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was dispatched to the scene. It was determined that approximately 10 cubic meters of rock had fallen, resulting in the closure of the road in both directions.
Rescuers removed smaller rocks (about 3 cubic meters) from the roadway and restored one-way traffic. Remaining cleanup operations are being conducted by the company “AAB PROJECT” LLC.
