Abramovich Refuses to Sign Agreement to Transfer Chelsea Sale Proceeds to Kyiv

Roman Abramovich has declined to sign a directive to transfer funds from the sale of the British football club Chelsea to Ukraine, according to the Daily Mail, citing sources from the British Foreign Office. He claims that the money should go to victims from both sides of the conflict, including Russians. The amount in question is £2.3 billion.

A source close to Abramovich's charitable foundation stated, “We had hoped that the funds would be transferred last summer, then we hoped for January. Now we hope that the funds will start being transferred to Ukraine by the end of the year, but at this point, there is no guarantee that will happen.”
