Kazakhstan Responds to US Financial Sanctions Warning
The head of Kazakhstan's Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, Madina Abylkasymova, addressed the issue of potential targeting by US financial sanctions in a conversation with journalists.
"We are taking all necessary measures to avoid the threat of secondary sanctions on Kazakhstan's financial sector. This is extremely important. We fully comply with the requirements set by regulators, as well as the requirements from corresponding foreign respondent banks for our banks," said Abylkasymova.
Earlier, it was reported that the risk of applying secondary sanctions against Kazakh banks and companies is currently rising in connection with cooperation with Russia to circumvent restrictions that are being imposed.
