Last year, our delegation had the great honor of visiting the Armenian Genocide Memorial at Tsitsernakaberd and paying tribute to the men, women, and children who were killed. This was noted by former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, in a post on her Facebook page.

“On Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, we pay tribute to the memory of 1.5 million Armenians who lost their lives during the horrific genocide 108 years ago. In 2019, Congress recognized the atrocities of the Ottoman Empire as genocide. When Joe Biden took office as President, he fulfilled his promise by officially recognizing the Armenian Genocide. By affirming the history of this tragedy, we are working to ensure that such horrors never happen again.

Last year’s visit of our congressional delegation to Armenia reaffirmed that Congress is committed to the stability, security, and democracy of Armenia. Today and every day, America remains fully committed to this mission,” she wrote.
