Russia Threatens Norway with Harsh Response

“Moscow will undertake harsh response measures against Norway in connection with the expulsion of 15 staff members from the Russian embassy,” said Maria Zakharova.

According to her, Moscow considers the incident a “deliberate escalation of hostility against Russia.”

“Russian-Norwegian relations have suffered a serious blow. Norway is increasingly confirming its status as a hostile state towards Russia. These actions will not go unanswered from our side; we will be implementing a harsh response,” she added.

It is noteworthy that Norway announced the expulsion of 15 Russian diplomats suspected of espionage. Norway’s Foreign Ministry indicated that it would not allow Moscow to use its embassy for “covert intelligence activities.”
