Seyran Ohanyan on the Closed Meeting with the Chief of General Staff and NSS Official
Seyran Ohanyan, the leader of the "Hayastan" faction of the National Assembly, provided details about discussions held during a closed meeting with the military leadership, convened following Azerbaijan's recent aggression.
According to "Armenpress", after the private meeting in the National Assembly, Ohanyan told reporters that the Chief of General Staff and the Deputy Head of the Military Counterintelligence Department of the NSS were present at the closed discussion with parliamentarians.
Ohanyan indicated that a vigorous discussion lasted for more than three hours, stating, "They primarily presented the situation around the village of Tegh, and also answered very concerning questions regarding the law enforcement agencies, the military, potential provocations from the adversary in other areas, and our readiness."
In his assessment, there are several issues: "The first is that this occurred in the context of the corridor connecting the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Artsakh. Moreover, since diplomatic matters are concerned, relating to the negotiation process, it is apparent that the Chief of General Staff was not aware of many questions. The shortcomings pertain to the actions of the political authorities of Armenia, which should have organized prior cooperation between the law enforcement agencies, so that any such changes—like the positioning or replacement of forces—could be carried out progressively, preventing many measures and ensuring we do not lag behind."
He also noted that an internal investigation is currently underway regarding the incidents that occurred in the Tegh village area. The investigation will reveal who has faltered.
