Biden Lifts COVID-19 State of Emergency
The state of emergency imposed in the United States due to the coronavirus pandemic has been lifted. President Joe Biden signed the corresponding proclamation.
"The President has signed legislation that terminates the state of emergency related to the COVID-19 pandemic," the White House statement reads.
It is worth recalling that the state of emergency was declared in the United States on January 31, 2020, as a legal basis for various restrictive measures, and it ended on April 11. The White House had previously informed Congress of its intention to extend the emergency for another month and then to lift it. However, legislators approved a bill in favor of the immediate cessation of the state of emergency, which was signed by Biden.
